Message from the Principal
First of all, I would like to thank the executive committee of the AFU for appointing me as the Principal of College of Natural Resource Management, Marin, Kapilakot, Sindhuli. CNRM, Sindhuli was established as the second constituent college of Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) representative of the province number three, Nepal. The CNRM, Sindhuli was established with hard effort from the AFU authority and local bodies of Sindhuli and classes were immediately run after inauguration from former prime minister and chief guest Mr. Puspa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) on 15th of February 2018 The college aims to produce technically competent man power in the field of agriculture and promote excellences in teaching, research and extension in the field of agriculture and other natural resource management disciplines in the country. At present, the college offers academic program of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc.Ag) with 54 student’s intake in each academic year. The college wishes to extend its teaching programs such as B.Sc. (Fishery), B.Sc. (Forestry), B.Sc. (Animal Science) and increase the number of student intake in the recent future. The college would undertake teaching activities of the student with special focus on practical classes; make them interact with local farmers to enhance their competent power in the field of agriculture and make them expose in the recent technology of commercial agriculture. In addition of teaching, the college provides facilities for sports, extracurricular activities and recreation. The college located area i.e. Marin Rural Municipality, Sindhuli is productive land for the cereals, vegetables, animal husbandry, fishery and fruits situated 290 MASL. The marginal and disadvantageous communities of the area probably would be benefited by the research and extension activities of our teaching faculties and students. I expect coordination and help from government bodies, I/NGSs, local communities and other stakeholders to establish the college as pioneer college of AFU. Finally, I would like to thank members of parliament from province number three, local leaders, Marin Rural Municipality and also Marin Multiple Campus for providing us building to run our classes at the moment until we become able to conduct classes at our own buildings.
